I just read an article at Forbes.com about marketing through webinars. It was originally published in early 2015, but the tips they give are just as applicable now.
Webinars are a great way to both provide value and market your services to clients and prospective clients. And the interest in them doesn’t seem to be slowing down, either!
From the attendees’ perspective, a webinar is a great way to learn a lot about a topic very quickly. It’s also helpful to hear from a number of different speakers, each with his or her own viewpoint. And, of course, each speaker will usually point attendees to additional information sources. It’s like attending a conference without leaving your home!
For the host and participants, a webinar is a great way to elevate your status as an expert, identify people interested in your area of focus and build your list for follow up. And, just like attendees, the host and participants can do everything without leaving their homes.
To create a webinar that will wow your attendees, here is what Forbes recommends:
- Remember it’s about them
- Leverage alliances
- Find the right platform
- Give yourself lead time
- Reward your audience with RSVP extras
I would add one more, and that’s:
- Design your webinar for success
You want to make sure that your webinar is designed to provide maximum value to your audience, maximum exposure for your participants, and maximum leverage for your own business. If you’re thinking about hosting a webinar, let’s talk about how we can help you design an event that exceeds all your goals!
